A General Manager is in-charge of running the main day-to-day business activities of a company or department. He/she has the responsibility of managing both the revenue and cost elements of a company's income statement, known as profit & loss.
At school level, any combination of subjects will work. One should opt for English, Math, economics, accounting and business studies if possible. For admission in a bachelor’s degree in a top college, the candidate should have passed in class 10+2 or its equivalent exam from a recognised Board with minimum 45% marks and English as a compulsory subject.

At school level, one can pick up any stream from Humanities, Commerce and Science. Since HR requires good interpersonal skills, taking on leadership roles in school might be beneficial. Additionally, Psychology as an elective may also be helpful.
